A Systems Review is a structured walk of your premises that tells you exactly what's working, what's costing you money, and what could injure someone.

We visit your premises and carry out a thorough quality control check on the electrical systems already in place — power, lighting, access, alarms and controls, plus the electrical and control side of your heating and hot water, such as immersion heaters, electric boilers, thermostats and time controls. You get a plain-English report of what we found, what we'd recommend, and what it would cost — with no obligation to have us do the work.

Air conditioning running in rooms nobody is in is one of the most common things we find. Adding presence detection means the system responds to real occupancy rather than a timer or someone's memory — the room is comfortable when it's used and idle when it isn't.
An immersion heater left permanently on, or controlled only by a wall switch someone has to remember, is both a standing electricity cost and a scald risk if the thermostat's drifted high. A time controller and a working thermostat keep water hot when it's needed and off when it isn't — without anyone having to think about it.
Lights left burning in empty offices, corridors, stores and plant rooms are a permanent, invisible cost. Occupancy detection and daylight-linked dimming mean lighting drops back or switches off when a space is unused — without anyone needing to think about it.
Extract fans running 24/7, external lighting on the wrong photocell setting, gate and door systems held open by habit rather than design, and heating controls fighting cooling controls in the same space.
Almost every avoidable cost we find traces back to the same thing: a system that depends on someone doing something. People forget. People go home early. People go on holiday. Automation doesn't.
When the building closes, everything that shouldn't be running stops running — lighting circuits, HVAC, non-essential power, signage. One schedule, applied every night, applied identically whether it's a Tuesday in March or Christmas Eve.
Boilers and heating plant fired down to setback or off outside occupied hours, and brought back up in time to be ready — not left running through the night because a manual timer never got changed when the clocks did.

A corridor or store lit around the clock costs the same whether or not anyone walks through it. Occupancy and daylight control typically cut lighting energy in intermittently used spaces substantially, and the fittings often pay for themselves inside a couple of years.
Heating or cooling an unoccupied room is a total loss. Occupancy-linked control and correct setback are usually the single largest saving on a commercial site.
Boilers, pumps, extract fans and immersion heaters left on overnight and through weekends. On many sites this is a third of the week spent conditioning an empty building.
Where systems in the same space are set against each other, you pay twice to achieve nothing. Fixing it costs a commissioning visit, not new equipment.
How we quantify it: we take your actual meter data and tariff, the real occupancy pattern of the building, and the current run hours of each system. Each recommendation gets an estimated annual saving, an installed cost and a payback period. Where a change is about safety or liability rather than cost — a drifted immersion heater thermostat, for example — we say so plainly, because that one isn't measured in pounds saved.
And the savings you don't see on a bill: fewer callouts, because systems that only run when needed run for longer; less staff time spent on lock-up routines; and no more findings that only surface after something has already failed.

Most sites take between two and four hours on site, depending on size and how many systems are in place. Larger or multi-building sites may need a full day. Your written report follows within a few working days.

No. The report is yours to do as you like with. Take it to your existing contractor, do the simple items in-house, or have us carry it out. We'd rather you got the improvements made than nothing happened at all.
Yes — that's most of what we do. We're assessing the outcome, not scoring anyone's workmanship. If something's been done well, we'll tell you that too.
Usually not. Most of the review is inspection, observation and measurement. If we need to isolate anything briefly, we'll agree it with you first and work around your operating hours.
Often yes — small sites tend to have fewer people watching the systems, so things drift unnoticed for longer. If we don't think a review would pay for itself, we'll say so before you book.
Both. We can specify, install, program and commission controls, sensors, scheduling and announcement systems, then hand over with documentation so your team knows how to change settings later.
Plenty of what we recommend is non-invasive — control and scheduling changes rather than new cabling. Where a building has constraints, we work within them and flag anything that would need consent.
