AUTOMATED GATE REPAIRS
Fault-finding and repair for automated swing, sliding and bi-folding gates across Hertfordshire and London – for sites where a gate stuck open or shut leaves the place insecure.
RIGHT NOW, BEFORE WE ARRIVE
Gate stuck open, stuck shut, or reversing on contact
Slow, jerky or intermittent operation
Remote controls, keypads or intercoms not responding
Motor not running, or running but not driving the gate
Safety edges, photocells or induction loops in fault
Gate off its track or misaligned
Control panel in fault or not holding programming
Battery backup failing to hold charge
We repair and replace the motor, control gear, safety devices and electrical components of automated gates. We don’t carry out structural fabrication or welding – where the fault is with the gate leaf or frame itself rather than the automation, we’ll tell you and can advise on a suitable fabricator.
The van is stocked to clear the majority of gate call-outs on the first visit. A complete motor for an unusual range is an order item, and we’ll confirm price and lead time before it goes on.
Control boards get discontinued long before the gates they run. When a FAAC or CAME board is no longer made, there are usually two routes: a like-for-like unit from remaining stock, or a current-generation board retrofitted to your existing motor and safety devices – which means re-learning the limits and re-commissioning the safety circuit. We price both and tell you which we’d choose. Where the motor itself is obsolete and the gate leaf is sound, replacing just the automation is normally the cheaper answer.
On the phone we work out whether the gate can be left where it is or needs winding to manual and secured, because a gate stuck half open is a security problem before it is a repair one. The engineer traces the fault through the motor, safety edges and control board, quotes the repair before starting, and force-tests the gate against BS EN 12453 before it goes back into automatic. Available reactively at a £135 minimum charge (£105 if the visit is booked 10 or more days in advance), or through a commercial reactive maintenance contract, across our standard coverage area. Engineers work to the relevant safety requirements for powered gates, including BS EN 12453 and BS EN 12604 – see our accreditations and full pricing.
