CASE STUDIES

Recent Projects, From Survey to Handover

Three projects that show how we approach a site: survey first, design around what the site actually needs, then install and hand over every trade involved - electrical, CCTV, access control, gates and data - as one job with one point of contact.

Three Recent Projects

01Remotely Monitored CCTV for a Flytipped Car Park

CCTVElectricalData & Connectivity
The Brief

The landowner of a commercial car park had a persistent flytipping problem and wanted CCTV that could be watched and acted on remotely - somebody seeing the tipping as it happens, and able to intervene. They had approached several other contractors without finding anyone able to deliver a working solution.

Our Approach

We surveyed the site and designed a self-contained system around what an open car park actually offers: no existing comms, and equipment that has to survive outdoors year-round. Everything runs from a secured enclosure, with high-speed mobile internet carrying the footage and the operator’s voice back and forth.

What Was Delivered
  • Full 4K CCTV coverage of the car park
  • Live audio challenge via a horn speaker, so the remote operator can speak to anyone on site in real time
  • High-speed mobile internet for remote viewing and audio
  • Provision for additional lighting
  • Secured equipment enclosure with thermostat-controlled extraction and an in-cabinet heating element, protecting the equipment from both heat and freezing
  • Distribution board installation for future electrical provision on the site
The Result

The car park is now watched remotely in 4K, and a CCTV operator who sees flytipping in progress can speak to the people doing it through the horn speaker as it happens - a live deterrent rather than footage reviewed after the mess is already there. The enclosure and new distribution board leave the site ready for the additional lighting and future electrical work the owner has planned.

02Bonded Warehouse Electrical & Security Fit-Out

ElectricalCCTVAccess ControlIntruder AlarmData & WiFi
The Brief

The owners of a warehouse were converting it to a bonded warehouse - a facility holding goods under customs control, where the security requirements are strict and every part of the site has to meet them. They wanted a single contractor to take the whole site from its existing state to bonded-ready.

Our Approach

We delivered the project as a turnkey installation: the electrical upgrade and every security system designed together, installed together and handed over working as one. That included linking two adjacent warehouses so both sit on the same network and the same security estate.

What Was Delivered
  • Electrical upgrade across the site
  • Full internal and external CCTV coverage
  • Access control on the areas that needed it
  • Wired internet link between the two adjacent warehouses
  • Remote CCTV viewing from an off-site control room
  • Full-coverage WiFi throughout the warehouse
  • Intruder alarm with high-powered internal and external sounders
The Result

One installation took the site from a standard warehouse to one equipped for bonded operation: monitored inside and out, access controlled, alarmed, and viewable from a remote CCTV control room - with the electrical capacity and network coverage to run it all across both buildings.

03Farm Infrastructure for a New Business Park

ElectricalGates & EntryCCTVFibre & Data
The Brief

The owners of a farm were changing its use to a commercial business park of multiple units. The site sits at the end of a 1km access road, security was paramount, and the existing gates could only be opened by remote fob - workable for a family farm, but not for a site expecting tenants, deliveries and visitors. The farm also had a history of electrical problems that needed resolving before anything new was built on top of them.

Our Approach

We treated the gate, the cameras and the comms as one system with the main office at its centre. An outdoor cabinet at the entrance houses the electrical infrastructure, the data link to the main building, the intercom and the gate controllers - and because the entrance sits 1km from the office, a fibre-optic link carries the CCTV and intercom traffic back over the distance.

What Was Delivered
  • Outdoor cabinet at the entrance housing electrical infrastructure, data link, intercom and gate controllers
  • Video intercom at the gate, so staff in the main office see who is there before opening it
  • CCTV covering the gate and the full length of the access road
  • Fibre-optic data link carrying CCTV and intercom comms over the 1km run
  • Electrical distribution upgrade sized for the planned expansion into multiple units
  • Longstanding electrical faults on the farm traced and resolved
The Result

Staff in the main office now see everyone who approaches - at the gate on the video intercom, and along the whole access road on CCTV - and open the gate only once they know who is asking. The upgraded distribution gives the site the electrical capacity its conversion to a multi-unit business park will draw on, and the faults that had dogged the farm are gone.
